Wish your garage was a little bit warmer in the winter but cooler in the summer? Or maybe you have plans to convert an extra space into a bedroom or home office. Ductless mini-split systems are a simple way to control heating and cooling for one space, independently from the rest of the home.

As the name suggests, ductless mini-split systems do not require ductwork. This eliminates energy waste as there is no potential air loss through leaks or gaps in the ductwork. According to the Department of Energy, leaky ducts can account for more than 30% of energy consumption for heating and cooling.

Like central HVAC systems, mini-splits are comprised of two main components – an outdoor compressor/condenser and an indoor air-handling unit. Mini-splits are much smaller than central HVAC systems and allow flexibility for zoning and cooling individual rooms. These systems can be used to supplement your existing heating and cooling system, or heat and cool a space which does already have a system installed.

    BENEFITS OF MINI-SPLITS
    • Easy to install
    • Precise temperature control
    • Zoning options
    • Energy efficient
